On 9th August 2024, the President of the United Nations Association of Malaysia (UNAM), Dato’ Sri Mustapa Mohamed, made a courtesy visit to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In a fruitful discussion with Secretary-General Dato’ Sri Amran Mohamed Zin at Wisma Putra, both parties explored opportunities for closer collaboration in raising awareness of the United Nations' mission in Malaysia, particularly among the youth.

The conversation centered on creating impactful programs and initiatives that would empower young Malaysians to actively engage with global issues, including sustainable development, human rights, and international peace and security. Both leaders emphasized the importance of nurturing future leaders who are not only aware of global challenges but are also motivated to contribute solutions through advocacy, education, and action.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of mutual commitment to strengthening UNAM’s role in promoting global awareness, aligning closely with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.
